Matthew is a proven leader and communicator. After starting his career in sales Matthew soon established himself in the field of financial services, successfully running his own consultancy business, where he raised capital for numerous early-stage tech companies in the environmental, social and governance field.
Matthew experienced first hand the difficulties faced by these innovators in commercialising their world changing technologies. Inspired by their determination and devotion to succeed he wanted to create an environment where these pioneers of tomorrow could access all of the resources they required to change the world for the better.
He believes that the services provided by the Sustainable Network will do just that and accelerate our global transition to a sustainable future by creating meaningful and significant solutions for change.
Matthew is an advocate of personal and spiritual development and strives to be better with each day that passes. He practices meditation daily, and is at his happiest in nature, either in the countryside or by the ocean. His true inspiration comes from his young daughter and his desire to leave behind a legacy for her and all future generations.
Harvey displayed an entrepreneurial flair from a young age, starting an international trade business at the tender age of 15 selling electronic goods on e-commerce sites.
His next career move was into the world of impact finance, sourcing investment from various Venture Capital firms and Family Offices. Motivated by a desire to facilitate positive change, he then moved on to work exclusively with early-stage climate tech, nanotech and medtech companies emanating from various university institutions and incubators.
Throughout his career he has built a network of impact investors committed to the infrastructure development and technological advancement of projects aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Harvey is determined to create his own legacy in this world, by building solid investment opportunities to promote a sustainable world that serves the whole planet.
Having trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with a small firm in the City of London, Nick decided to leave practice to work in industry. Subsequent roles gave him wide-ranging commercial and management experience across varied business sectors.
Mostly as CFO, Nick’s primary responsibility was for finance teams delivering all aspects of accounting & management reporting. These roles also covered HR, IT, corporate administration, commercial contracts and other legal matters including corporate acquisitions and disposals, IPO’s and shareholder agreements.
Nick is also a qualified and accredited mediator. Studying mediation has underlined for him the importance of communication in all walks of life and the huge benefits of seeking solutions that work for everyone.
Following a career-break to spend time sailing he now wants to apply his experience and skills in a sustainable and environmentally positive space; joining Sustainable Network provides a perfect opportunity to achieve this goal.
David started his career as a quantity surveyor with the largest privately owned contractor in the UK, 40 years ago. He has vast experience at both senior and board level handling contracts from small projects to multi-million-pound projects
He was a founder of a highly successful construction company in the 90’s, and for 16 years grew a management team of over 30 and 150 directly employed staff. David successfully exited this company.
For the past 10 years David has expanded his extensive contract and legal experience by applying his skills to the due diligence process in the UK, Europe, and USA. This included mergers and acquisitions in fields as diverse as Software development, manufacturing, and renewables. It is in sustainability in all its various formats that is now his main passion and focal point.
For over a decade Kathryn worked in sales and marketing roles for large public and private sector organisations before quitting the rat race in 2018 to fulfil a lifelong dream of sailing around the world.
Kathryn now lives and works from the boat as a freelance digital marketing consultant, key services include digital strategy, PPC, SEO, paid social, CRM, and campaign management.
Living off-grid and so close to nature only heightened Kathryn’s passion for living sustainably and campaigning for a sustainable future. Carbon footprint, plastics, food waste, biodegradables, chemicals, renewables, and landfill… (the list goes on). These are all brought into stark reality when your sink is connected directly to the ocean, you rely on renewables, and you witness plastics fraternising with sea-life on a daily basis.
With an MSc in Digital Marketing and partnerships with Google and HubSpot, Kathryn works with an eclectic mix of clients across a range of industries, including legal, finance, ecommerce, social care, and SaaS, both with individual businesses, and alongside partner digital agencies.
Kathryn believes that a secure, just, and sustainable world can only exist if we bring the environmental, social, and economic dimensions of development together in a single agenda, which is why she is excited to be a part of Sustainable Network and in communicating such an important global message.
For over a decade Russell worked in sales and marketing for numerous small businesses before travelling the world for three years.
Russell and his family volunteered at more than 15 projects in Asia, Australia and South America. In India and Colombia he learnt about permaculture and successfully regenerated and reforested land supporting thriving sustainable communities.
Subsequently Russell qualified as a permaculture teacher and has taught hundreds of students at his farm and sustainable community in Colombia.
In 2020, the pandemic hit and Russell realised it was time to pivot and scale his teaching, utilising his years of experience in reforesting, growing food organically, and living life sustainably, in order to impact an even broader audience.
Based from his palm-roofed off-grid hut in the tropics, Russell created an online virtual summit named Generation Regeneration with the intention of bringing together worldwide sustainability leaders.
Russell believes that by harnessing permaculture design and human ingenuity we can regenerate our world. Russell is actively living a regenerative and sustainable lifestyle and is excited to use his experiences to help co-create a sustainable world, through the development of the Sustainable Network

Tamara Pitelen came to the world of sustainability consulting after a diverse and international 25-year career in the media, working mainly in print and online publishing, across six countries.
In 2020, many months of lockdown provided the opportunity to retrain as a sustainability professional. A long-time advocate for environmentalism and frustrated by the lack of purposeful climate action, Tamara was motivated by the desire to help drive the profound transformation so urgently needed to save humanity as well as all the other forms of life that depend on the Earth’s systems.
To this end, she studied sustainable business management with the Institute for Sustainability Leadership at the University of Cambridge, also the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment. As well, she took the training offered by former US vice-president Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project.
The outcome was the launch of Greener Matters, a UK-based business sustainability consultancy that exists to help guide SMEs through the transition to a sustainable business model. The challenge for businesses is that they may have the will to operate in a planet-friendly way but they do not have the knowledge. Greener Matters offers options for bridging this gap, for example, through undertaking the B Corp certification process.
Tamara believes that we cannot wait for governments to take the lead or set the pace on climate action. The private sector is the key to unleashing the resources, ingenuity and innovation that will provide the solutions to the climate crisis.
Tamara lives in Bath, Somerset, with her husband. She is also an advanced yoga teacher.
