A proven leader and communicator, Matthew began his career in sales but soon established himself in the field of financial services.
For a number of years, he ran his own successful consultancy business, raising capital for numerous early-stage tech companies in the environmental, social and governance field.
From working closely with these start-ups, Matthew witnessed first-hand the difficulties faced by entrepreneurs and innovators in commercialising their world-changing technologies.
Inspired by their determination and devotion to succeed, he wanted to create an environment where these pioneers of tomorrow could access all of the resources they required to change the world for the better. This sparked the birth of the Sustainable Network.
The services provided by Sustainable Network are designed to help accelerate the world's transition to a sustainable future by creating meaningful and significant solutions for change.
Matthew is an advocate of personal and spiritual development and strives to be better with each day that passes. He practices meditation daily, and is at his happiest in nature, either in the countryside or by the ocean. His true inspiration comes from his young daughter and his desire to leave behind a healthy planet for her and future generations.
From a young age, it was clear that Harvey had natural entrepreneurial flair. By the tender age of 15, he already had his own international trade business, selling electronic goods on e-commerce sites.
His next step on the career ladder was a move into the world of impact finance, where he gained experience in sourcing investment from various Venture Capital firms and Family Offices.
Motivated by a desire to facilitate positive change, Harvey then moved on to work exclusively with early-stage climate tech, nanotech and medtech companies that were coming out of university institutions and incubators.
Throughout his career, Harvey built a network of impact investors committed to the infrastructure development and technological advancement of projects aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This network of contacts laid the foundations for launching the Sustainable Network.
Becoming a father in 2022 further galvanised Harvey's determination to leave a legacy through building solid investment opportunities to promote a sustainable world.
In his spare time, Harvey is a keen gym-goer and an advocate of a daily meditation practise.
A proven leader, entrepreneur and mentor, Shaun has more than 20 years experience working across financial services, consulting and the start-up community
In 2009, he led the global equity franchise expansion after Barclays’ acquisition of Lehman Bros. His role was ensuring operational capability from client, regulatory and control perspectives.
As well, Shaun was the co-founder/director of start-up Cygnetise in 2016. A global B2B award-winning enterprise, Cygnetise digitises the process of authorised signatory management using the latest blockchain technology.
Two years later, in 2018, Shaun went on to co-found WeGive Ventures. WeGive is an easy-to-use app that makes donating to charity easier than ever. Using modern payment systems to reduce charges and create a frictionless donor experience, WeGive aims to address the substantial drop-off in charitable donations with the gradual demise of cash.
As a mentor/non-executive director to other start-ups, Shaun is excited to see smaller, innovative companies flourish.
With a clear understanding of the effort required to make a success pre-scale-up, Shaun's knowledge and experience enables Sustainable Network to lead with a founder-led approach.

Serial entrepreneur, having recently established a new strategic consultancy firm (pH3 Capital) delivering strategic, commercialisation, fundraising and governance support to tech-led sustainability startups.
I was born and raised in the industrial north of England on a diet of coal, steel and loving community. Whilst I came to see infrastructure as an enabler of prosperity, I also saw the dark side of those industries in terms of both environmental and human cost and witnessed the devastation of their sharp decline. This led me in early search of a more sustainable way of doing business in harmony with the planet and empowering communities which has occupied my entire professional life.
"I am excited about the vision and passion Sustainable Network has to drive transformative change in the startup ecosystem, creating a blueprint for sustainable success that challenges traditional and outdated models of startup support and funding. Through innovation, compassionate connectivity and an aligned community of advisors and investors they (and we collectively) are changing the way we think about growth, success, courage and value creation"
Tamara Pitelen came to the world of sustainability consulting after a diverse and international 25-year career in the media, working mainly in print and online publishing, across six countries.
In 2020, many months of lockdown provided the opportunity to retrain as a sustainability professional. A long-time advocate for environmentalism and frustrated by the lack of purposeful climate action, Tamara was motivated by the desire to help drive the profound transformation so urgently needed to save humanity as well as all the other forms of life that depend on the Earth’s systems.
To this end, she studied sustainable business management with the Institute for Sustainability Leadership at the University of Cambridge, also the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment. As well, she took the training offered by former US vice-president Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project.
The outcome was the launch of Greener Matters, a UK-based business sustainability consultancy that exists to help guide SMEs through the transition to a sustainable business model. The challenge for businesses is that they may have the will to operate in a planet-friendly way but they do not have the knowledge. Greener Matters offers options for bridging this gap, for example, through undertaking the B Corp certification process.
Tamara believes that we cannot wait for governments to take the lead or set the pace on climate action. The private sector is the key to unleashing the resources, ingenuity and innovation that will provide the solutions to the climate crisis.
Tamara lives in Bath, Somerset, with her husband. She is also an advanced yoga teacher.
